We received word on Monday that we had completed phase one! How exciting and thankful we are! Phase one consists of a binder full of paperwork, finger printing, doctor visits, reference letters, copying documents, and a partial payment. The agency recommended three months to complete phase one, however if done in thirty days, the cost you initially pay for the binder of paper work goes towards your total cost for the adoption. Since every cent is crucial we defined our goal to be phase one done in thirty days. There were unplanned events that arose, and we thought the thirty day goal may not be met, yet we still pushed forward.
Joe was absolutely incredible at attacking every task with gazelle like intensity. His attention to detail, following up with various companies on forms that we needed, and sticking to it deserves celebrating! Have you ever seen the "Modern Family" episode about 2 monkeys and a panda? Reminds me of Joe becoming the organized one :). He was truly remarkable. All I can think of is.... WHAT.AN.AWESOME.DADDY!
We are also so appreciative of all who helped us reach our goal. Thank you for the assistance, words of encouragement, prayers, reference letters, hosting Scentsy parties and donations of goods for our garage sale. All were huge factors in success.
Going through garage sale items now. Blown away at the volume of items we have received from family and friends, and how awesome the stuff is. The clothes are in mint condition, some with tags still on. The toys barely look played with. Some of the house goods and electronics have never been used. It is going to be quite an event, mark your calendars, tell your friends! JULY 22 and 23, our house.
THANK YOU!
Lots of love,
The Smith's
